Who can apply for Kendriya Vidyalaya?

Preference for admission to Kendriya Vidyalaya is given to the children of central government employees, state government personnel and therefore private-sector employees.

Kendriya Vidyalaya’s posts are divided into five categories:-

The first preference is given to the division of central government employees.
The second preference goes to the children of army men and ex-armies.
The third preference is given to the children of officials.
The fourth preference is given to the quota for single girls.
The fifth/final preference is given to private or independent staff.

Admission of Kendriya Vidyalaya for class 1:-

15% of seats are reserved for SC and 7.5% of seats are reserved for ST. The deficit in the number of places reserved for SC and ST will be resolved after taking into account the number of SC / ST children admitted as part of the RTE quota.
10 seats (out of 40 seats) in class I per section must be filled in according to the RTE provisions (25% of seats) and these 10 seats will be filled by lot for all SC / ST / EWS / BPL / OBC applications (stratum not creamy).
In the second phase, the remaining posts are filed under the existing priority category system. The lack of SC / ST reserved seats, if present, will be filled by the admission of the SC / ST candidates. For example, in a single-section school, 6 places are reserved for SC and 3 places for ST (15% for SC and 7.5% for ST). Assuming that 2 SC candidates, 1 ST candidate and 1 candidate with different abilities are admitted to RTE in the lottery system in the first phase, the SC seats available will be considered 6-2 = 4 and the ST seats will be 3- 1. = 2. I registered candidates excluded from the SC and ST categories will be considered according to the order of the priority categories for admission. In this case, the 4 remaining posts will be available for admission in order of priority by category.

Admission of Kendriya Vidyalaya for classes 2 to 8:-

There is no admission test/exam for admission of class 2 students to Kendriya Vidyalaya. Admission is granted based on the system of priority categories. If requests exceed the number of places, the lottery system is followed for each category, including the fee for single girls (from class VI).

Admission of Kendriya Vidyalaya for class 9:-

An admission test will be performed for admission to class 9. Furthermore, a list of merits will be prepared for each priority category separately. Admission is granted in order of priority categories, in order of merit.
The admission test must be taken in the following 5 subjects: Hindi, English, mathematics, social sciences and sciences.
There will be only one admission test lasting 3 hours and 100 points, including Hindi, English, mathematics, social sciences and sciences, each of which carries 20 points.
Candidates must obtain an average of 33% of the votes to qualify. Students belonging to the SC / ST / Divyang (PH)category will be eligible for admission after obtaining an average of 25%.

Admission Kendriya Vidyalaya for class 11:-

Admission to various courses such as – Science, Economics, Humanities of Kendriya Vidyalaya class 11 students will be based on the average grade obtained in class 10 exams:
Science: on average a minimum of 60% in all subjects.
Business: a minimum of 55% on average in all subjects.
Humanities: all students of Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) if declared successful in the class 10 exam.

Documents required for admission to Kendriya Vidyalaya:-

Following admission guidelines, the following documents are required by students for admission to Kendriya Vidyalaya:

Age proof certificate for class 1 pupils in the form of a birth certificate issued by a competent authority for birth registration.
This will include certificates issued by the regional council/municipality / notified municipal corporation, an extract from the date of birth of the Panchayat village archives, the military hospital and the service records of the defence personnel.
For other classes, the date of birth included in the transfer certificate issued by a school recognized by the Department of Education will be accepted. The original date of the birth certificate will be returned to the parent/guardian after verification.
Admission for students up to the 8th year can be granted without a school transfer certificate, on condition that the child is otherwise eligible and his birth certificate has been issued by a government body.
For the honorary grandchildren and UPE employees, proof of the relationship between the child’s parents and the honest member or employees of the PSU would be required.
For the grandsons of the KVS employee, proof of the relationship of one of the child’s parents with the KVS employee (employed or retired) would be required.
A caste certificate attesting that the child belongs to the registered caste/tribe / EWS / OBC (non-creamy layer) / GLP, if applicable, issued by the competent government/state government authority The Union concerned is required.
The certificate of one of the parents can be initially accepted, for admission, if this certificate is not available for the child. However, the child’s certificate must be presented within 3 months of the admission date.
A certificate of the civil surgeon/rehabilitation centre or other competent authority defined by the Indian government O.M. n. 36035/5/88 / Estt. (SCT) of 4.5.1999 certifying that the child is disabled, if applicable.
If the child’s disability is visually visible to the director, the child can be accepted as disabled even without a certificate. However, the parent may be advised to obtain the corresponding certificate from the competent authority and pass it on to the school. A service certificate showing the number of transfers in the last 7 years, duly signed and stamped by the head of the office with the name, designation and other pertinent information in block letters.
A retirement certificate for uniformed Defense employees.
In some cases, proof of residence is also required.
